Division 2 Arena West Midlands Swimming League After gaining promotion from Division 3 of the Arena West Midlands league and the departure of popular head coach Callum Lawson for a full time coaching position in Norfolk, Falcon were fearing a struggle, but under the new joint leadership of Ian Melvin and Angela Waldram, the Hucknall swimmers performed heroics at Mansfield's Water Meadows complex to finish a creditable third in the first round of Division 2 of the prestigious competition. Falcon gained an impressive thirteen victories and seven second place spots on the night in a battling display. Pride of place went to girls senior club captain Imogen Gould who bagged an hat trick of wins in the open 100m individual medley, butterfly and breaststroke, excellent double victories were secured by junior boys captain Rhys Taylor in the 11 and under 50m backstroke and butterfly, James Terry in the 13 and under 100m breaststroke and butterfly in a personal best time (PB) and Megan Geoghegan in the 15 and under 100m backstroke (PB) and freestyle, with the wins being completed by Callum Murray in the 15 and under 100m butterfly (PB), Amelia Sale in the 13 and under 100m butterfly (PB), the girls 13 and under medley relay team of Olivia Gould, Emily Waldram, Sale and Rhiannon Taylor and the ladies open freestyle relay team of Imogen Gould, Alex Nightingale, Aimee Collier, Chloe Melvin, Sale and Geoghegan. Valuable runners up places were secured by Sale (13 and under 100m breastroke and 15/u 100m butterfly), Sam Murden (13/u 100m backstroke), Murray (15/u 100m freestyle (PB)), the boys 13/u medley and freestyle relay team of Rhys Taylor, Terry, Murden and Kyle Raison, the girls 13/u freestyle relay team of Sale, Rhiannon Taylor, Megan Miles and Waldram. Ludlow 61 Notts and District League On the same night as swimming in the Arena League, Falcon also competed in Round 1 of the Notts and District League at the Lammas Leisure Centre Centre, Sutton. Falcon were understandably understrength with many swimmers having to swim in older age groups, Steven Catton provided the only first place finish in the open 50m butterfly, Daniel Copley came second in the open 50m breaststroke and encouraging third place positions were claimed by Catton, Pierce Raynor and Jarrod Davies. Personal best times were achieved by Hannah Brown, Harvey Green, Jack Burbanks, Victoria Widdowson, Kieran Davies, Sean Waterhouse and Raynor. Results sheet here RESULT 1. Kimberley 242 2.
