Falcon B made the short journey to the Lammas Leisure Centre in Sutton to compete in round two of the Sports Centre League (Div 3) on Saturday Febuary 19th. Hoping to improve on their last performance in round one, Falcon went into this gala with a shortage of Open swimmers due to illness and other commitments, however the youngsters that were asked to swim up in age groups handled themselves very well and were a credit to the club. A Special mention must go to the master of the belly flop, veteran Ian Melvin who competed in the Mens Open events.

With three local Ashfield based club's competing in the six team event, it was Sutton, who on this occasion came out on top clinching victory from Sherwood B by 5 points with Falcon finishing a creditable 4th and Hucknall and Linby finishing in last place.

With three victories and nine second places on the night there were a lot of positives to gain from the event and it gave Falcon's swimmers another chance to put pressure on their A team counterparts.

The wins were acheived by Asher Smith in the boys 15 & under 100m Breaststroke, Libby Straw in the girls 13 & under 100m Breaststroke and Jessica Howarth in the girls 11 & under 50m Freestyle which hopefully will not be her last appearance for the club.

Second places were acheived for the boys by Asher Smith in the 15 & under 4x1 Ind Medley, Joshua Pearson in the 11 & under 50m Backstroke, Oliver Bradbury in the 11 & under 50m Breaststroke and Joshua Beeston in the Mens Open 100m Freestyle. For the girls second places were acheived by Chloe Melvin in the 15 & under 4x1 Ind Medley, Aimee Collier in the Ladies Open 4x1 Ind Medley, Jessica Howarth in the 11 & under 50m Breaststroke, Rhiannon Taylor in the 13 & under 4x1 Ind Medley and Libby Straw in the 13 & under 100m Freestyle.

Full Result : Sutton 190 pts, Sherwood B 185 pts, Rykneld 164 pts, FALCON 144 pts, Bramcote B 143 pts, Hucknall and Linby Dolphins 106 pts.
