In the latest round of the Spring Minor Gala Competition held at Hucknall Leisure Centre on January 29th, Falcon faced a stern test of their credentials as they came up against strong opposition in Leander A, Calverton and Bingham A and Sherwood. The locals got off to cracking start with some impressive swims and by the half way mark found themselves lying in second place behind leaders Leander A and with a four point advantage over third placed Calverton and Bingham. It was evident as the races went by, that second place was going to be difficult to hang onto as both Leander and Calverton's swimmers turned in some fantastic swims. Falcon's younsters gave their all, right down to the final race, but it proved not to be good enough on the night and were finally edged into third place overall,a result which should secure Falcon's place in the 'A' Final which takes place at the end of March.
