Falcon made the trip to Nuneaton for round two in the National Arena League, after a convincing win in round one, Head Coach Callum Lawson, expected to face a sterner test against stronger opposition in their quest to gain promotion from Division Three of the West Midlands section. It turned out not to be, as Falcon turned in yet another emphatic display, crushing nearest rivals Oakengates by 48 points. Winning twenty one and with eight second places out of the fifty races, with an incredible twenty four personal best times. Afterwards a jubilant Callum said " it was another amazing performance and all the team can be extremely proud of their acheivement." The result should mean that Falcon retain top spot going into the last round on December 11th.
Again showing her class and leading from the front was senior club captain Imogen Gould, recording three victories in the 15 & under 100m Breaststroke, 100m Butterfly and Open 100m Butterfly. The other first places for the girls were acheived by Megan Geoghegan in the 13 & under 100m Backstroke and 100m Butterfly,Amelia Sale in the 11 & under 50m Butterfly and 50m Breaststroke,Alex Nightingale in the ladies open 100m Freestyle.
For the boys, leading the way with two individual wins each in the 13 & under's were Tom Howarth 100m Freestyle, 100m Breaststroke and Prentice Dawn, 100m Butterfly and 100m Backstroke. The other individual win went to Senior Boys Captain Steve Catton in the Mens Open 100m Butterfly.
With relay victories coming for the girls in the 11 & under 4x50m Freestyle and Medley (Sale/Jessica Howarth/Megan Miles/Sophie Melvin), the 13 & under 4x50m Medley (Sale/Libby Straw/Geoghegan/Rhiannon Taylor), the Ladies Open 6x50m Freestyle (Gould/Nightingale/Geoghegan\Sale\Chloe Melvin\Taylor).
Relay wins for the boys came in the 13 & under Freestyle and Medley (Dawn/Howarth/Kieran/Davies/James Terry), the Mens Open 4x50m Medley (Andy Zawadzki/Daniel Copley/Catton/Adam Walmsley) and 6x50m Freestyle (Zawadzki/Copley/Ian Melvin/Robert Barton/Catton/Walmsley).
Second places were acheived by Robert Barton in the 15 & under 100m Freestyle and 100m Backstroke, Rhys Taylor, 11 & under 50m Butterfly and 50m Freestyle, Daniel Copley, Mens Open 100m Breaststroke, Daniel Terry, 15 & under 100m Breaststroke, Adam Walmsley, Mens Open 100m Freestyle, the boys 11 & under 4x50m Medley relay team of Josh Pearson/Oliver Bradbury/Taylor/Luke Straw, the girls 13 & under 4x50m Freestyle team of Taylor/Straw/Sale/Geoghegan.
A club spokesman said afterwards " It was a fantastic result proving that all the hard work at the club as been worth it, credit must go to the coaching staff and all the swimmers for their dedication and commitment."
